Let me lead with a couple of positives. The employees were very courteous, and the facility was spotlessly clean. Even the restroom smelled good. That notwithstanding, I made an appointment on 8/5/22 for an AC systems check for which I had a coupon from 1st Choice's monthly mailer. My request was to know if my refrigerant was pressurized to spec and, if not, to top the system off. After 2 hours and 45 mins I was told that my evaporator core was faulty and needed to be replaced. A service costing $1100 and requiring 9 hours worth of time in the shop. I advised them I would have my keys back that minute, and they were not to perform any further services on my vehicle. Despite my objections, the service manager insisted I allow him to send me financing applications to my phone/email because it was crucial I had a working evap core or the AC would not work at all. I told him this business was not getting that much money from me regardless of the problem. By the end I paid $225 for replacement of the 2 shrader valves (because they were found to be leaking during the initial diagnosis) and a refrigerant recharge. I agreed to cover charges of services already completed, as there was no way for them to be undone. Imagine my surprise when I decided to test my luck and turn the AC on, only to find it is COLDER than when I arrived. Now how could that be possible with a faulty core? I should have NO cold air at all, right? From 8/5 to today (8/10) I have run my AC on my 20 minute commute to Oak Ridge and back in 86-90 degree afternoons with sweltering humidity. I have experienced NO PROBLEMS. How can that be if there is $1000+ worth of work that urgently needs to be performed to my AC system? Now lets bounce back to the $225 bill I paid for those valves and freon recharge. Given the story I was told so far, and how I have dismantled it through repeated testing, it only made sense to check the valves they replaced too. On visual inspection, the interior, just below the built in rubber washer at the top of the access valve is corroded and discolored. Did they come this way out of the box? I doubt it seriously, which leads to another problem. If they were leaking when diagnosed and the system was recharged without them being changed out as I was informed they would be, that means the freon is still slowly leaking out of the system even now. 1st Choice charged me for a service they did not complete as described, the results of which wasted everyone's time, their resources, and the money I paid them to get my keys back. That's a hat trick of failure as far as I can see. Bad form!

The front end had a vibration. The mechanic diagnosed the problem as a worm CV joint. Very friendly and knowledgeable.

BEWARE!!! I took my car to First Choice for an oil change and alignment. They called me and said it didn’t need an alignment but the front suspension needed to be replaced for around $3500, the radiator possibly had a leak and wanted another $50 to run a pressure test on the radiator. I told them to not do anything, took my car to Harper Infinity and told them what First Choice had “diagnosed”. The dealership went through the suspension, checked the radiator and said the car only needed an alignment.

I paid $2,000 (two thous the diagnostic to repair my car, in vain. Returned back the same day saying that my car is still “shaking” and the warning signal on my dashboard is still “on.” They said that what they fixed was more urgent and that I would need to pay for another diagnostic test… They never told me that the $2,000 will fix ONLY one issue I had in the car; the issue that I did NOT complain about…. End of story: the work they did ruined my new tires and voided the tires’ warranty. First Choice Northshore Drive had replaced the front control arms and “aligned” the tires… Two months after First Choice Northshore has replaced the control arms and alignments the tires, the metal threads of my new tires were showing because a bolt they fixed was almost an inch off and the alignment was done badly….
